Regretful
I would never put a loved one in this facility again. We moved my 95 year old aunt to Riverside when her assisted living facility could no longer meet her needs. She died 3 weeks later. I encountered a few nurses and aides who genuinely cared for the residents and did their best to meet my aunt's needs. But there were others who cearly were avoiding the patients as much as possible. They are severely short staffed. Because I live out-of-town, I could only visit my aunt every week or so. When, on a Friday, she stopped eating and was unable to get out of bed, no one notified me. This continued throughout the weekend with no notification. On Monday morning she was not roused for breakfast and when a nurse finally did check on her several hours later, she had no pulse and very little respiration. Our "do not resuscitate" order was ignored and paramedics were called. They revived her and took her to the hospital where she was repeatedly resuscitated until I was contacted and asked them to stop. Two hours after her death, the administrator asked me to have her belongings cleared out by the next morning, or he could pack them up for me and store them until I could get them. This is a for profit facility, and profit is clearly their priority. If you must leave a loved one here, make sure you visit daily and make sure they are being cared for.
